History of Culligan-Sacramento
Since 1946, Culligan Sacramento has served the water quality improvement needs of the greater Sacramento area. In 1967, Don and Julie Felton purchased the franchise. In 1971, Culligan Sacramento bought and moved into a new offfice and plant facility at 1200 Arden Way, by way of a State of California excess-land auction.
Throughout the years, water conditioning operations have grown aggressively, and expanded into virtually all areas of residential, commercial, industrial and small municipal water quality improvement applications.
Don and Julie’s son, Mark, began working in the business in 1974. Mark worked five summers during his high school and college years, and began fulltime in 1980. In 1990, the Culligan Dealership serving the Woodland/Davis area was acquired. In 1992, the Culligan territory covering the Grass Valley and Nevada City area was acquired. Currently, this area is being served from our Sacramento facility.
In 1994, the adjacent property south of our water conditioning plant (formally the Mason Paint facility) was purchased. This brings the total office, plant and warehouse space to over 38,000 square feet and total property to over 4 ½ acres.
In December 2002, the Culligan Yuba City dealership was acquired and is being served from our Sacramento facility.
Historically, the Felton franchises have been recognized to be rated among the top Culligan dealers in the country by the Culligan Circle of Excellence Dealership Recognition Program.
